The name makaveli is much known throughout the urban community and hip hop community. The makaveli name carries the pride and honor of the one of the largest personal legacies of any music artist in the history of music, Tupac Shakur.

The name makaveli is only one of the many stage names that Tupac carries with him, but among his entire stage names, the makaveli is the most famous of all. Tupac started to call himself makaveli when he was bailed out of jail by the CEO of Death Row records, Suge Knight.

While incarcerated in Clinton Correctional Facility, Shakur read and studied Niccolò Machiavelli and other published works, which inspired his pseudonym “makaveli” under which he released the record album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.

Even after his death, the name makaveli still rings in our ears because of the legacy that makaveli left after his death. On November 14, 2003, a documentary about Shakur entitled Tupac: Resurrection was released under the supervision of his mother and narrated entirely in his voice.
